Da Rules

To be a member of the Cool Christian Webring, you must abide by these rules:

Ⅰ. You must affirm* the Nicene Creed

The Nicene Creed is the basic statement of faith for all orthodox (little o) Christians. As inclusive as I want this webring to be, you still need to be Christian to qualify.

* Two notes: 1) you may affirm or deny the filioque; 2) you may interpret the phrase "one holy catholic and apostolic church" in whatever specific way you wish.

Ⅱ. Personal sites only

Your website must be primarily of a personal nature (links for donations or products are okay as long as they're not the main focus). Also, your site must be your own HTML creation. Web-hosting services like Neocities and Nekoweb are fine—mainstream, surface-level platforms like social media and Substack are not.

Ⅲ. Be cool

As Christians, we are rightly held to a higher standard of conduct. Therefore, members may not engage in any kind of hate speech, bullying, harassment, slander, bigotry, or hateful discrimination. Good-natured disagreement and debate are fine, so long as things remain civil. That means you must be okay with your fellow ring members holding different beliefs and opinions. You don't have to agree on everything or even be good friends, but you do have to get along.

"'By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.'” —John 13:35

Ⅳ. Explicit Content

Your site may include content of an explicit/NSFW nature, but it must be clearly labeled and prefaced by a warning. It must also not be on the landing page.

Ⅴ. Visibility

The Cool Christian Webring widget must be clearly visible and easily accessible on your site. Ideally it will be on your site's landing page or on a clearly-marked webrings page. Other than that, your faith does not necessarily have to be represented elsewhere on your site. The widget could be the only indication that you're Christian, and that's fine!

Ⅵ. The Ringmaster has the final say

As the Ringmaster, I reserve the right to remove any site from the webring at any time and for any reason. I promise not to be a tyrant and to always try to be gracious and work things out with folks, but at the end of the day this is my webring, and I do quite literally make the rules.
